The base of the threaded cores form a workpiece which already has a splined shaft profi le. This gives rise to different thread core variants, according to customer demands and technical specifications.

Servomold threaded cores are available in different dimensions. Depending on thread size and cavity distance, various system sizes are used: (ED = external diameter / SP = diameter of splined shaft profile)

Threaded core material

 

Servomold threaded cores are standardly made of Böhler M340. This high performance plastic mold steel is eminently suitable for threaded cores:

  • Excellent corrosion resistance properties
  • Good hardenability (Servomold hardens this steel with 56 ±1 HRC)
  • High wear resistance

Threaded core cooling

Servomold threaded cores can be cooled in various ways depending on the application :

  • In multi cavity molds via compact rotary cooling for rotating cores SDK
  • In multi cavity molds via fixed, cooled inner core
  • For single, double - and fourfold unscrewing via rotary feedthrough SDD
